Helps 'Movement for Macey'

Naperville Illinois-CrossFit of Naperville to host “Movement for Macey” on Saturday, April 3rd from 8:30-3 located at 800-4 Frontenac Rd. Aurora Il, 60504. Macey Horbach is a 9 year old Naperville Resident who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in January. Her Mom, Christy Horbach, expressed her appreciation. “We are deeply touched and overwhelmed with the support being given to Macey's mission to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. The ability of the CrossFit community to quickly spread the word globally and embrace a young girl they have yet to meet in person is both inspiring and a true testament to what they stand for. We are so appreciative for all of the support we are being given from members of the Naperville community.”

A family friend of the Christy Horbach, Ray and Bridget Murphy, are the owners of CrossFit Peachtree in Georgia and Ray is a graduate of Naperville Central. They are organizing the event with CrossFit Naperville to help Macey reach her goal to raise funds so no other children will fall ill to this disease. Neil Khant, owner of CrossFit Naperville is quoted; “Ray Murphy and I were classmates with Christy at Naperville Central High School. I have three children of my own. Macey's story has really touched me and I am glad that I able to help with what she is doing. CrossFit is more than a gym, we are a community. We are going to help grant her wish by raising funds to donate to the 2010 GREAT STRIDES fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis.”

GREAT STRIDES: Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest national fundraising event. Tens of thousands of co-workers, friends and family come together each year in May as one community for one cause…to help find a cure for CF. Naperville Great Strides event will be held at the River Walk - Grand Pavilion on Saturday, May 22, 2010. Join us for the walk, refreshments and family friendly entertainment and activities starting at 8:30 AM. Area businesses have stepped in to ensure the event is a success. Buffalo Wild Wings on 75th Street in Naperville will be providing the food as well as donations from Fitness Factory Outlet, Schmaltz Delicatessen, Home Depot, lululemon, Bella Life Photography. CrossFit Affiliates from the Chicago area will be attending, as well as events being held in CrossFit Maui, Hawaii and Stuttgart Germany.
