Lots of good things to say about this item. First, let's start with perceived need. I did not need the functional trainer attachment (have one already) so I was interested in the Lat/Row capabilities. Second, design. The open architecture allows for back stowage of weight horns and attachments like dip handles. All of this without obstructing your view in a mirror while you perform other rack-based exercises like Squats and Presses. Third, assembly. Simple, straightforward with minimal disassembly of the existing rack. That was a bonus because let's face it - who wants to break stuff down that they spent hours setting up, right? Fourth, Function. It operates well. It provides enough room to slide a bench into the Rack and still utilize the front uprights whilst being able to face the mirror. Now ALL my exercises face the mirror. A bonus for us vain body builders!

Lastly, drawbacks. One that readily comes to mind is the absence of a leg hold down attachment for those people that perform near bodyweight pulldowns. I was able to find an attachment at TITAN that works but am surprised that Body Solid did not have one. One last item. Lack of safety straps. Pipe and Pin are wonderful 20th century devices but are CUMBERSOME, LOUD and DAMAGING (both to my bar and themselves). Mine were scratched up within a few rack-pulls. Another trip to TITAN for safety straps and problem solved! A strange omission because Body-Solid makes straps for the 1000 series rack.

Overall, this is a must have attachment. I rarely leave my rack for anything now. Body-Solid does need to fill in the gaps within the attachment eco-sphere though.

Preacher and Leg Extension attachments are ones that readily come to mind but such thoughts are probably more applicable to a review of the GPR400 than this particular attachment.

As mentioned under my GPR 400 review, plan wisely. This is a great addition to the Rack - I even upgraded to aluminum pulleys. Racks are great but attachments make them greater! This one does the trick and is easy to assemble and most importantly leaves the back of the rack open for weight horn attachment and the like. I also purchased a Multi Chin, a Mono lift. a hip-thrust and Dip attachment and this rack is outfitted and ready to go! Hope I can use it all.
